If you live in Seattle, we probably don’t have to tell you that Bumbershoot is a big deal around here. The iconic music and arts festival is in its forty-fifth year and draws over 100,000 people every Labor Day weekend. The live music often draws the most buzz (you can find this year’s lineup here), but the festival also features a spectacular array of comedy, theatre, dance, film, lectures, and literary and visual arts.
This year, GFP is sponsoring a program on the Words & Ideas stage, and we couldn’t be more pumped about our lineup. Look how excited Kristin and I are in this video.

“Writing the Northwest with Timothy Egan, Brian Doyle, and Jamie Ford.” KUOW’s Marcie Sillman will lead a discussion among three award-winning authors on the role of place in their writing and how their disparate backgrounds influence their take on the Northwest. 5:30 p.m., Monday, September 7, in the Charlotte Martin Theatre.
